Cate Tomlinson is a photographer and visual artist based in Amsterdam and London who graduated with a Master’s in Photography from University of the Arts,London in 2020. She specializes in experimental analogue printing techniques. Her work spans from fashion editorials to personal projects. She draws from the documentary photography tradition in her first project, London/Kyiv/Detroit. Shot over the course of three years, London/Kyiv/Detroit explores the techno scene in the title cities as well as in Belgium and the Netherlands.Through portraits and abstract works created in the darkroom,she examines her interests in collective experience,color and light,architecture,states of transcendence,ritual,dance,and all absorbing sonic encounters.
